Schedule of upcoming training as part of our women's campaign, Local Women Leading Change.
Key components of the pre-candidate training program supported by the Victorian Government:
- Local Government 101 – a comprehensive overview of the business of local government, the roles of councils and councillors and the electoral system.
- Candidate development – interactive workshops on key considerations for candidates, including policy platforms, connecting with community and key skills and campaigning techniques.
- Networking sessions as part of the Victorian Local Government Women’s Charter – networking sessions for local women to link them Women’s Charter Champions (councillors) from across the region.
We will be undertaking at least one session from each category in every region (as per RDV's Regional Partnerships) as part of our funded project. For additional workshops and training, including training tailored to the needs of your community, please contact us.
